Job Description:

Join a busy anatomic pathology laboratory as a Cytotechnologist for a 13-week contract in scenic Irvine, California. You'll be working in an oncology-focused facility that handles diagnostic testing across a wide range of patient samples—primarily adults and geriatrics. Your primary responsibilities include preparing and examining cytology slides, performing various specimen collections, and assisting during on-site procedures. The role offers a standard weekday schedule with 8-hour days from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekend duties unless rare delayed procedures occur. This assignment gives you the chance to contribute to a team doing meaningful work in a fast-paced environment, all while refining skills like ROSE for thyroid FNAs and working with ultrasound-guided samples. Wearing navy blue or dark grey scrubs (not provided) is part of your daily routine, and you'll receive 24 hours of comprehensive unit orientation to help you settle in quickly. Certified Cytotechnologists with at least three years of experience—and five years preferred—who possess a current California license and ASCP certification in cytotechnology are encouraged to apply. Your expertise in specimen staining, preliminary diagnoses, and assisting with on-site tests will play a crucial role in patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
