Job Description:

Join the team on the 5H Surgical Unit at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for an engaging travel nursing assignment. This role involves providing post-surgical care to patients recovering from urology, ortho, and general surgeries, with some medical overflow. You will work the night shift, 12-hour hours from 7p to 7a, for an overall 36 hours per week over 15 weeks. Expect to maneuver through various procedures, support patient recovery, and collaborate with a dedicated team. Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, unless exemptions are client-approved. The environment emphasizes flexible learning—willingness to take on charge and learn peri-dialysis is preferred. Be prepared to work in a team that values good communication, adaptability, and a positive attitude in a unit with 23 beds and a patient ratio of 1:6. BLS certification and a minimum of 1 year of experience in post-surgical Med Surg are necessary to thrive in this role.
