Thankful

Thankful

It's that time of year where I stop and take stock in life. What's gone right this year, what can I improve on? I also take time to reflect on what I'm thankful for. Gratitude seems to be a rare commodity these days. We all have things in our lives we should be thankful for. I'm super thankful for a lot of things. My family, my health, my co-workers. I wouldn't be where I am today without all of them.

I'm also very thankful for all of you. Every nurse that works for Atlas, and all those nurses that came before you. Nurses operate on a different level. A level filled with compassion, love, kindness and trust. I'll never fully understand exactly what it takes to be a nurse. To give of yourself every day without asking for anything in return. I honestly don't know if I could do it? If I could be strong enough. You are an amazing group of people, and it's an honor to have known so many of you. Over the years I've met some incredible nurses who are strong beyond words. Even when you are sick, you are occupied with taking care of others. It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse, and you don't get thanked enough.

So from all of us at Atlas, to all the nurses out there, thank you. Thank you for being there. Thank you for taking care of us when we are sick. Thank you for working shifts that no one else would want to work. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your dedication to a very difficult profession. Most importantly, thank you for being you. You matter. You are important. You make the world a better place. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving!
