🌼 Did you ever wonder if there was a way to pay back a nurse who was there for you while you were a patient in a hospital? That there was someone to say, "hey, so and so went above and beyond the call of duty. Well, you can nominate them for The Daisy Award.
But what is The Daisy Award? The Daisy Award was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died of complications of the auto-immune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). They established the award because they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his family. When he died, they felt compelled to say "thank you" to nurses in a very public way.
So if you find yourself thinking about how you can repay your nurse in a very public way, why not nominate them for The Daisy Award and tell the world how much that nurse mattered to you.
That is exactly what happened to Labor & Delivery nurse Corey Strickland. Corey is a winner of The Daisy Award for being a sentry and a guide for a particular patient who was sick during her pregnancy. Listen to her story here.
Bravo Corey! We are proud of you and proud to have you as one of our nurses.
