Job Description:

Join a busy Level I trauma hospital in Springfield, IL, as an OR Tech specializing in Surgical Services. In this role, you'll assist in a variety of surgical procedures across general, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, oral, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology cases. Expect to work 8-hour daytime shifts, five days a week, supporting an average of 50-60 cases daily. Your duties will include preparing operating rooms, handling instruments, managing supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed during complex surgeries like craniotomies, laparoscopic procedures, and microsurgical flaps. This assignment offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in a high-paced environment while floating within your scope of practice as needed. Prior experience of at least three years is required, along with BLS certification, and CST is preferred. The role involves being on-call and working weekends once a month with an obligation of 16 hours. You'll need to be prepared to travel to Springfield, IL, and arrive three business days before compliance requirements are completed.
