Job Description:

This ICU RN contract in Waimea offers a chance to serve a diverse patient population, spanning pediatric to geriatric. The role involves coordinating and providing specialized care for patients with serious respiratory and cardiac conditions, often in a quiet four-bed unit. Work involves flexible shift scheduling, including nights and weekends, as the position requires working any shift on a rotating 12-hour schedule. You'll be expected to handle patient ratios typically around 1:2, with additional nurses called in for higher acuity cases or vented patients. Expect to assist with float assignments to OB, MS, PACU, and ER, tailoring your skills to meet the needs of each setting. The position emphasizes independent decision-making and teamwork in a supportive environment, with orientation and competency assessments completed through hospital and unit-specific training.
