Job Description:

This registered nurse role involves providing skilled medical-surgical nursing care within a general medical and surgical unit that serves a diverse patient population. You will be responsible for managing patients with various diagnoses, including chronic conditions like COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and renal disease, as well as acute issues such as GI bleed, infections, neurological deficits, and mental health disorders. The assignment includes performing assessments, care planning, administering medications and IV therapies, and utilizing diverse medical equipment such as wound vacs, feeding pumps, chest tubes, and telemetry monitors. You’ll be floating to other med-surg units as needed, covering 12-hour day shifts, with a typical patient ratio of 1:5-6. This position offers an engaging experience in a large facility where your skills in managing complex and varied patient conditions will be essential. Expect a focus on teamwork, inter-professional communication, and efficient electronic health record use with Epic.
