Job Description:

Join our team as a Med/Surg nurse on a night-shift contract in Carbondale, Illinois, working on a 25-bed unit. This position offers an engaging opportunity to manage a diverse range of patients, including stroke, post-operative, and hospice cases. You'll be expected to quickly adapt to the unit's workflows, with orientation consisting of a day of training followed by up to two 12-hour shifts on the floor. The role involves providing expert nursing care in a setting where many patients require specialized attention, such as heparin drips, wound care, and monitoring altered mental status. Candidates with recent travel experience, familiarity with Epic, and stroke certification will thrive here. This assignment provides the chance to make a meaningful impact while working a steady night schedule, every other weekend and holiday, with a commitment of 36 hours per week for approximately 13 weeks.
