Job Description:

Join a specialized step-down unit as a Registered Nurse, where you'll be the key player caring for general medicine and oncology step-down patients. This role calls for a nurse with solid experience in administering chemotherapy via IV, starting IVs, and managing vital sign monitoring equipment like Welch Allyn towers and sigma IV pumps. You’ll utilize EPIC for documentation, ensuring seamless patient records. The shift involves 12-hour nights, offering a unique opportunity to work a consistent evening schedule. This assignment is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and prefer a balanced work schedule of 36 or 48 hours per week. Your responsibilities will include caring for patients with complex medical needs, managing IV therapies, and collaborating with support staff across med-surg areas, including emergency or urgent care units. Every other weekend work is required, and floating to other medical-surgical units is part of the role, providing variety to your routine. The role emphasizes team effort, with nurse-to-patient ratios generally between 1:4 and 1:6, and supports in place to assist with fluctuating patient acuity. A current Michigan RN license, BLS from the AHA, and either an ONCC or ONS certification are required—pending certifications are accepted. You should be available for the first two weeks of the assignment, with scheduling preferences accommodated through self-scheduling.
