Job Description:

This contract offers a unique opportunity to work in a newly opening Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a renowned academic medical center. As an RN, you'll be at the forefront of cardiac care, managing high-acuity patients with complex diagnoses such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, and post-cardiac surgery recoveries. The role involves hands-on duties with implanted devices like Impella, managing episodes of shock, arrhythmias, and assisting with post-transplant patients. You'll experience a setting that transitions from high acuity PCU to ICU, with responsibilities including wound care, EKG interpretation, and caring for vented patients. It's a role that combines technical expertise with the thrill of working in a teaching hospital, with support from a skilled team including RT, hospitalists, and intensivists. The environment is fast-paced but rewarding, giving ample opportunities to develop advanced skills in cardiac and critical care nursing.
