Job Description:
Join a highly specialized ECMO department as a respiratory therapist in Minneapolis, where you'll work 12-hour night shifts providing critical support for adult patients with severe respiratory conditions like ARDS, COVID-19, and pneumonia. This assignment offers the chance to operate advanced ECMO machinery and manage complex airway procedures, including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of RRT experience and at least 1 year of ECMO expertise—so if you’re comfortable navigating the intricacies of pulmonary hygiene, ventilator management, and medication delivery systems like aerosol setups and high-flow oxygen, you’ll find this role fulfilling and impactful. Expect a busy, hands-on environment that challenges your skills and rewards your expertise with a uniquely rewarding experience working at a Magnet-recognized facility.
Weather:
The weather around this time of year typically features mild temperatures with a mix of sunny days and occasional cool evenings. It’s the kind of season that encourages outdoor strolls, scenic drives, and exploration of the city's vibrant neighborhoods, all while enjoying the crisp, refreshing air that Minneapolis has to offer.
Fun Things To Do:
- Weekend trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum for breathtaking gardens and nature walks.
- Explore the Chain of Lakes for kayaking, paddleboarding, or a relaxing picnic by the water.
- Visit the historic Mill City Museum to learn Minneapolis's milling history with interactive exhibits.
- Take a day trip to Stillwater for charming shops, river cruises, and scenic views along the St. Croix River.
- Plan an outdoor adventure at Afton State Park for hiking and wildlife viewing just a short drive away.
