In this role, you'll be responsible for managing adult patients with complex diagnoses, including oncology and trauma cases, coordinating care, and administering medications such as chemotherapy, heparin, and Cardizem. Your expertise with hemodynamic monitoring, ventilators, and other specialized equipment will be essential. The unit’s vibrant team includes support staff like PT/OT, RN case managers, social workers, and educators, all dedicated to providing comprehensive care. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, while also enjoying the rhythm of night shifts that allow for daytime adventures. And yes, your work will be validated by a pass/fail skills exam during orientation, with resources provided to help you succeed—90% is the pass mark, and failure results in termination, so come prepared! Rate: Approximately $2,044.47 gross per week
Please note the unit features a 28-bed Oncology and Trauma PCU with patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:5-6 for med/surg. Experience in oncology and trauma care, including the administration of chemotherapy, heparin, and Cardizem, is preferred—minimum one year. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Orientation includes two days, and candidates must be within 50 miles with a valid driver’s license. RTO requests need to be submitted upfront with seven days or less, and no additional RTO approvals are guaranteed during the contract. float to other similar care units is expected, and all staff are encouraged to maintain a team-oriented, respectful environment appreciating diversity.
