Job Description:

Join a well-respected ICU team in Rapid City, South Dakota, for an engaging 13-week travel contract working 48-hour shifts on a day schedule. This role is ideal for experienced ICU RNs who thrive in a diverse patient population, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. You will manage complex critically ill patients with acuity levels requiring vigilant assessment and interventions such as ventilator management, vasopressors, sedation, and proning. This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a mixed ICU unit divided into pods, where teamwork and technical skill are essential, but you will likely not float into the CVICU unless experienced in that specialty. The setting demands proficiency in Epic electronic medical records and familiarity with advanced critical care procedures, including Impella, IABP, and CRRT, along with a strong focus on patient safety and assessment. The team support includes nurse aides, resource nurses, RTs, intensivists, and other specialists, creating a collaborative environment. Be prepared for an occasional float to other adult floors, and ensure you hold current certifications like BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC. This role is perfect if you enjoy fast-paced, high-acuity care and are comfortable working 48 hours per week in a dedicated ICU atmosphere.
