Job Description:

As a PACU Registered Nurse in this contract, you will be an essential part of the post-anesthesia care team, managing complex surgical patients recovering from anesthesia. Your responsibilities include overseeing patients with multiple drains, vasoactive infusions, mechanical ventilation, and ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia. Working primarily in the PACU and pre/post interventional radiology areas within the hospital’s Level I trauma center, you will rotate through shifts that include nights on a 3x12 schedule. This assignment offers a chance to experience the high-stakes environment of a surgical recovery unit, where your critical care skills will be put to good use in a fast-paced setting. The role requires proficiency in managing complicated postoperative patients and interpreting EKGs, along with compliance with certifications such as BLS, ACLS, Vents, IV start, and Telemetry. The unique aspect of this role is the opportunity to work in a renowned trauma center, providing advanced recovery care for diverse surgical cases including GU, GYN, colorectal, bariatric, ENT, and minimally invasive procedures.
