Job Description:

This 12-hour rotating shift position calls for experienced registered nurses ready to provide vital support in a fast-paced unit that manages a variety of medical diagnoses, including pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and patient falls. You will be responsible for tasks such as taking vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, EKG setup, applying heart monitors, and assisting with basic patient care activities like bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning. Candidates must have at least one year of recent experience, and those with a valid RN license can either hold a CNA license or take a PCT class to qualify. Titration of certain drips like heparin, bumex, and lasix is required, excluding cardiac drips. You will work alongside charge nurses and nurse aides, with nurse-to-patient ratios averaging 1:5-7 during the day and 1:6-8 at night, and aide ratios around 1:10-12. The role involves monitoring telemetry strips—while nurses are not expected to interpret these independently, the monitor tech on level 5 reads and reviews telemetry data. The environment features respiratory equipment like vents, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen, which RTs typically manage, with RNs primarily supervising and monitoring. Flexibility is essential, as staffing schedules are managed by the supervisor without self-scheduling. You may be asked to work every other weekend and rotate through holiday shifts. The position offers a weekly gross pay of approximately $1,916.02, with a commitment of 36 hours per week over a total duration of 13 weeks.
