Job Description:

Join us for an exciting travel nursing opportunity in Louisville, where you’ll step into a unit specializing in orthopedic and spine surgeries, including total knees, hips, ankles, and shoulders. This 12-hour day shift offers a 36-hour weekly commitment, providing a balanced workload with manageable patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6, caring for an average of 20-25 patients daily. You’ll be working alongside support staff such as PCA/CNA, RN shift coordinators, and a comprehensive team that keeps the unit running smoothly. Expect to utilize your skills with IV starts, trachs, chest tubes, and dressing changes, specifically with heavy ortho patients and non-titrating drips. The role emphasizes hands-on technical expertise within a varied and engaging clinical environment, with opportunities to float within the scope of practice to other units as needed. This assignment offers a robust exposure to orthopedic recovery, utilizing advanced EMR systems like Cerner and equipment such as Plum 360 IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
