Job Description:

This ICU nursing contract offers the opportunity to work in a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 16 adults. You'll be caring for patients with trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent recovery, pacemaker placements, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. Your role involves titrating various cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation, ensuring precise patient management. The shift is 12 hours during the day, providing a balance of work and personal time, and weekend work is every other weekend. Be prepared to interpret and document monitor strips from GE monitors and assist with ventilator troubleshooting, including nasal cannula to vent conversions. Self-scheduling is available for core staff, with some flexibility depending on unit needs. This assignment highlights both hands-on ICU nursing and technical skills, making it a unique and rewarding experience for those ready to dive into critical care challenges.
