Job Description:

Join this specialized medical-surgical oncology RN contract, where you'll experience working with adults to geriatrics in a busy oncology unit. You'll be handling patients with diagnoses ranging from diagnosis to end-of-life care, including hematology cases, oncologic emergencies, and chemo precautions. This role involves managing medications such as morphine, Dilaudid, PCA pumps, and more, within a unit that emphasizes safety and precision. Your responsibilities will include adapting to the Epic system, maintaining medication safety with Pyxis, and communicating effectively using SBAR. The 12-hour night shifts offer a unique opportunity to become deeply familiar with complex oncology cases while enjoying some quieter hours during your shift. Expect to work every other weekend and be prepared for floating within the facility and possibly at nearby Piedmont Augusta Summerville. The atmosphere demands attention to detail and resilience, but it’s equally rewarding for those dedicated to oncology nursing.
