Job Description:

This contract opportunity places you on the 4th Floor North & South of a medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic and medical tele. You will be working 12-hour night shifts, providing essential nursing support for patients recovering from joint replacements, fractures, and various surgeries, as well as managing conditions like COPD exacerbations, sepsis, and pneumonia. The role emphasizes quick thinking and adaptability, as inpatient admissions and discharges happen frequently throughout your shift. Expect to engage in hourly rounding, respond promptly to patient needs, and collaborate closely with charge nurses, patient care techs, and telemetry staff. Your expertise in managing IV drips like heparin and PCA pumps will be key, and some telemetry strip interpretation is required. The unit values compassionate care delivered with a friendly, team-oriented approach, welcoming diverse patient populations including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese speakers.
