Job Description:

Join as a registered nurse on a 13-week contract at North Alabama Medical Center's Labor and Delivery unit. You'll be working the 12-hour night shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), providing specialized care for adult patients experiencing childbirth and postpartum recovery. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dedicated postpartum area with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1, focusing on fetal monitoring, emergency response, and postpartum assessments. Your expertise with fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and emergency procedures will be essential to ensure safe and efficient labor and delivery processes. The unit values teamwork, attention to detail, and empathy, providing a supportive environment for both staff and patients. You will utilize EHR systems such as Centricity and Meditech, and will be supervised by Kendra Smith. To excel, you should have a minimum of 3 years of experience and hold certifications including ACLS or ALS-OB, NRP, EFM, and BLS. Expect a rewarding experience supporting mothers through normal spontaneous labor as well as managing high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia or fetal distress.
