Job Description:

This contract offers an opportunity to work in the CVICU, supporting patients recovering from complex cardiac surgeries, including open heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Your role involves managing patients stabilized by advanced equipment like Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO. Expect to titrate a variety of IV drips, including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics, in a fast-paced environment that demands precision and confidence. This role is unique because of the specialized patient population and the critical support needed for complex cases originating from cath labs, structural heart programs, and EP labs. The unit operates 24/7 with both hospitalist and intensivist coverage, and RNs are responsible for interpreting telemetry strips and troubleshooting ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow devices. Your shifts will be 12-hour nights over a 13-week period, providing ample opportunity to become deeply familiar with this challenging yet rewarding setting.
