Job Description:

This contract position calls for a seasoned PACU RN ready to bring their skills to an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, South Carolina. You’ll be working four 10-hour days, alternating weekdays with start times between early morning hours, and you’ll be on call once every four weekends, including weekend nights. The role involves managing post-anesthesia patients in the post-anesthesia care unit, with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, ensuring each patient receives focused attention. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of PACU experience and two years of Med Surg background, demonstrating efficiency in high-stakes, fast-paced environments. While you won't need to float between units, flexibility is appreciated as you stay ready to handle the demands of this busy setting. Your responsibilities will include monitoring recovery, assessing patient vitals, and collaborating closely with the medical team to ensure safe and smooth recoveries. The position offers an engaging mix of routine and critical thinking, all within a well-equipped facility that provides free parking and utilizes Epic for charting. Keep in mind, hurricane season activities may include emergency response duties, so preparedness for that is advised.
