Job Description:

This assignment is designed for a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse with a minimum of 18 months of experience, specifically focusing on the inpatient Med Surg setting. You will be caring for patients presenting with conditions like CHF exacerbation, TIA or CVA rule-outs, GI/GU issues, weakness, dizziness, and chest pain. The role involves managing patient transitions from the ER to inpatient Med Surg units, performing assessments, prioritizing care, notifying providers, administering blood products, and documenting accurately. While the environment is fast-paced, with quick bed turnovers in the ED area, your expertise in IV starts, wound care, ostomy and Foley care, external catheter management, and use of EMR systems like Cerner will be essential. The position offers an engaging mix of responsibilities in a reputable hospital, providing valuable experience in a teaching hospital setting that combines clinical expertise with operational support such as phlebotomy and telemetry monitoring.
