Job Description:

Join a dedicated MedSurg nursing team in Freeport, Illinois, where you'll be working on a 12-hour night shift across three interconnected units: 3 East, 3 North, and 2 North. This assignment puts your skills to the test with a mix of post-operative recovery, general medical, and chronic condition management, including diagnoses like orthopedic post-op, cellulitis, CHF, COPD, and surgical drains. You’ll be working with a patient ratio averaging 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, and collaborating with nurse aides, tele techs, and respiratory therapists managing BiPAP, Vapotherm, and other respiratory equipment. You’ll perform duties such as patient assessments, managing telemetry data, and participating in unit-based workflows—no drip titration required. The unit's culture values adaptability, so floating to ICU or Tele when needed is part of the role, and experience with EKGs and teletech systems is a bonus. Expect to complete two orientation shifts before taking the reins on your own, and enjoy a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday rotations.
