Job Description:

This respiratory therapist role is based at a prominent short-term acute care teaching hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and involves working three 12-hour day shifts per week. The position offers a chance to work in both ICU and general floors, with opportunity to occasionally precept respiratory therapy students in a busy hospital environment. Candidates will be responsible for managing patients with a range of respiratory conditions, including ventilated patients requiring complex airway management and mechanical ventilation troubleshooting. The role also includes performing airway procedures, medication administration via aerosol systems, and interpreting ABGs. The work week includes every third weekend and some holidays, creating a schedule that keeps the work engaging. Travel therapists should expect to walk considerable distances across the hospital’s large campus, making stamina a plus.
