Job Description:

This perioperative nursing role in the operating room at Mount Nittany provides an engaging opportunity for experienced RN professionals to work in a fast-paced surgical setting. The position involves supporting surgical teams through the entire perioperative process—preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment during procedures, and providing post-operative care. Travelers will be involved in safeguarding patient safety, managing surgical instruments and specimens, and ensuring smooth communication between team members. The assignment offers a chance to hone your skills in a collaborative environment, with an emphasis on adhering to AORN standards and demonstrating technical proficiency. While the shift is a 12-hour rotating schedule, the essence of the role is centered around critical support functions essential to successful surgical outcomes.
