Job Description:

Join our team for a 13-week contract as a Cardiac Step-Down RN in Rapid City, South Dakota. You'll be working in a 44-bed PCU that handles a variety of cardiac cases, including post-cardiac cath, MI management, and post-surgical recovery. This role involves night shifts of 12 hours each, providing an excellent opportunity to gain specialized experience in cardiac procedural recovery and telemetry. The setting offers exposure to patients with varied acuity levels—from intermediate care to post-open heart procedures—making every shift both engaging and rewarding. Expect to collaborate with a supportive team, including techs and resource nurses, while managing patient ratios typically around 1:4 to 1:3 depending on acuity. Your expertise in cardiac pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, and vasodilator/titration medications will be essential, and the role offers a chance to deepen your skills in a vibrant hospital environment that values professionalism, efficiency, and patient safety.
