Job Description:

Join a busy 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit in Kansas City, MO, where you'll be providing essential nursing support in a fast-paced environment that bridges medical, surgical, and telemetry care. This role involves managing intermediate medical patients, including those undergoing surgeries like TURP, lap chole, and hernia repairs, as well as diabetic education and wound care. Expect to monitor cardiac rhythms, administer IV insulin, and handle complex procedures such as central line and PICC line management. The unit requires adaptability as patients often transition quickly from ER or OR, and you'll be expected to float within your scope across related departments. This assignment offers a dynamic experience in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital with Magnet recognition, ensuring you'll work alongside some of the best professionals in the field while contributing to patient throughput and recovery. Whether you're interpreting dysrhythmias, managing ventilator protocols, or providing wound care, this role keeps your skills sharp and your days engaging.
