Job Description:

This travel healthcare contract offers an engaging opportunity for registered nurses to work in an OR setting within a hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The role involves performing specialized nursing duties for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing a variety of procedures, including pain management, ENT, urology, gynecology, podiatry, general surgeries, and some orthopedic cases. The position requires the nurse to work primarily in the OR, with potential floating between campuses, and a 1:1 patient ratio. Expect to be on call 1-3 times weekly and every third to fourth weekend. The shift is scheduled from 6:30AM to 3:00PM, Monday through Friday, for 40 hours per week over a 13-week duration. The role is ideal for a proactive RN with at least one year of related experience, holding a valid Louisiana or compact RN license, and BLS certification. The work environment is fast-paced, demanding clinical independence, and a comprehensive understanding of surgical procedures and patient safety protocols. This assignment provides a chance to hone specialized surgical nursing skills while experiencing the vibrant culture of Lake Charles.
