Job Description:

This contract opportunity places you in a 27-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in stroke and cardiopulmonary cases, situated in Albemarle, NC. As a traveler, you'll be managing patients with diagnoses like stroke, COPD, chest pain, and GI bleed, with nurse-to-patient ratios varying from 1:5 to 1:8 based on acuity. Your role involves conducting NIHSS assessments, managing cardiac rhythms, and handling procedures such as IV starts, drain management, and trach care. Expect to operate within an EMR system like Epic, utilizing equipment such as Alaris infusion pumps and Philips monitors. The position requires a minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele experience, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. You'll work 12-hour night shifts for a duration of 13 weeks, floating within the regional facilities as needed—so flexibility is key. This assignment offers a focused and dynamic environment where your clinical skills make a real difference, all while enjoying the scenic and welcoming setting of Albemarle.
