Job Description:
Join a Level I Trauma Center short-term acute care team as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) supporting respiratory and neuro diagnostics. This is a 3x12-hour night schedule (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with an assigned rotation based on unit staffing needs—there is no self-scheduling and no special scheduling accommodations permitted.
You’ll float between the SRC and YSC campuses, which sit about a block apart and share a parking lot with shuttle support for travelers. Your day-to-day focus will include adult critical care ventilator experience and trauma-focused respiratory work, using standardized, therapist-led protocols. Candidates should have RRT licensure/credentialing, ACLS and BLS, and a trauma background with adult critical care ventilator experience.
Preferred experience includes extra corporal experience, plus familiarity with NICU and peds (experience with Hamilton C6 ventilators is also preferred). Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
Weather:
Expect cool, crisp evenings and a mix of cloudy and sunny days with occasional light rain and wind. Seasonal temperatures can shift noticeably, so layering works well—especially for night shifts and commuting.
Fun Things To Do:
- New Haven Green & Knights of Columbus Park: Stroll the historic center and grab local eats nearby.
- Yale University & Sterling Memorial Library: Explore campus landmarks and architecture.
- Day Trip: Mystic Seaport Museum (Mystic, CT): Waterfront history and hands-on exhibits.
- Day Trip: Watch Hill Lighthouse & Beach (Westerly, RI): Coastal views and a relaxing shoreline day.
- East Rock Park: Hike for skyline views and classic New Haven photo spots.

Shift: 12 hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), 3x12
Duration: 13 weeks
