Job Description:

Join an acute-care hospital therapy team as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) on a 13-week travel assignment in Charleston, West Virginia. You’ll work 8-hour days, 5 days per week (40 hours weekly), typically scheduled Monday–Friday from 08:00–16:30, with the option for the manager to adjust your schedule to Wednesday–Sunday or Tuesday–Saturday while keeping the same hours. Orientation is built into the onboarding plan, occurring every other week on Mondays and starting in the department unit on your first day.

In this role, you’ll support the Physical Therapist’s plan of care while working with adult and geriatric patients across orthopedics, heart surgery, and general medical needs. Expect a steady, hands-on caseload focused on therapeutic mobility and strengthening: delivering home exercise programs, practicing safe lifting and transfers, and reinforcing injury prevention and safety education for patients and families. You’ll also follow a treatment rhythm of approximately 16 units of treatment per day and use a variety of assistive devices and equipment, including rolling walkers, crutches, and gait belts (with additional options available based on cases).

This assignment emphasizes acute-care experience, strong familiarity with hospital therapy workflows, and readiness to handle everyday clinical tools and documentation requirements in a high-volume setting.
