Job Description:

Join a travel healthcare team in Houston, Texas, providing night-shift support in a fast-paced surgical/med-surg unit located on the 5th floor of the West Tower at 7600 Fannin Street. This 12-hour nights role focuses on data collection and unit information documentation while you support day-to-day operations alongside an experienced staff team. The unit typically includes 14–22 beds, with staffing that adjusts based on acuity and census.

You’ll help cover a wide range of procedures and care activities such as cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, lumbar punctures, and seizure management, as well as noninvasive cardiology work (no neurosurgery or stroke, and no airway foreign body removal). Common services on the unit may include neuro, ortho, general surgery, and thoracic cases such as thoracotomy/thoracoscopy and pectus bar implants. The unit’s best-fit personality is supportive, collaborative, and team-oriented—everyone helps everyone.

Expect warm, humid days with occasional rain. Evenings are typically mild, making it a comfortable time for an after-shift stroll.
