Job Description:

This 13-week contract opportunity is for a registered nurse specializing in observation and step-down units at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wisconsin. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, floating across all inpatient units as needed, with an average weekly commitment of 36 hours. The role focuses on patients with conditions like COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, and urology, managing drips and interpreting EKG strips. The position offers a chance to experience a fast-paced, high-turnover environment where your ability to read and interpret strips and manage post-admission/discharge transitions will be vital. The assignment's unique aspect is its requirement for flexibility and resilience, as you will adapt to fluctuations in patient census and unit needs, all while providing excellent care without direct patient care responsibilities.
