Job Description:

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department in Bakersfield, California, for a 13-week travel assignment working 12-hour night shifts. This role involves managing a busy ED unit with 18 beds, including fast track staffed with midlevel providers and LVNs. You will be responsible for providing essential support in a facility that handles an average of 100 patients daily, many of whom are homeless or indigent, with some correctional patients from CDCR. The environment requires teamwork, quick decision-making, and adaptability, as floating between two nearby facilities may be necessary. Your shift will run from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and you will be expected to work four weekend shifts within each 4-week schedule. This position requires certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS, and compliance with uniform standards, including navy scrubs and jackets. Comfortable with EMR systems (Cerner), Phillips vents, and support from hospitalist or intensivist MDs is essential.
