Job Description:

This emergency department travel contract in Artesia, NM offers a hands-on experience in a bustling ER that sees around 40-50 patients daily. You'll be expected to work 12-hour day shifts over a 13-week period, providing critical care for everything from minor injuries to major traumas, STEMIs, and strokes. The facility requires a seasoned RN with at least 5 years of ED experience, capable of managing complex drips like Amio, Cardizem, Epi, and Insulin, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Besides clinical skills, you'll help with secretary duties, vital signs, and specimen collection, while managing respiratory equipment and interpreting tele and EKG strips. The hospital, which is working towards trauma level IV designation, offers unique exposure to trauma and emergency scenarios, including crush injuries, burns, and finger losses, often related to local oil field activity. The assignment provides an enriching opportunity to hone your trauma skills while working alongside dedicated physicians, nurses, RTs, and support staff in a facility equipped with X-ray, CT, MRI, and phlebotomy services.
