Job Description:

Join a busy surgical department as an Operating Room Nurse in Rock Springs, Wyoming, for a 13-week travel contract. This role involves working in four main ORs, a cysto room, OB, and endoscopy units. You will assist in a variety of procedures such as general, orthopedic, plastics, ENT, urology, pain management, OBGYN including C-sections, total joints, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic surgeries. Expect to utilize Alaris Med pumps, Hillrom call systems, Pyxis medication stations, and laser equipment like holmium CO2 and YAG lasers. The position requires hands-on OR experience, a Wyoming or compact nursing license, and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The schedule is 8-hour days, typically from 6:15 am to 2:45 pm, with about one night of call per week and one weekend per month. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 in PACU, with 1:2-3 in same-day surgery, and staff may float to other departments as needed. The hospital provides scrubs for PACU and SDS, while your own scrubs are preferred for other areas. Orientation includes two days of hospital onboarding and several days paired with a unit preceptor to ensure you transition smoothly into this fast-paced surgical setting.
