Job Description:

Join a dedicated cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) team in Omaha, Nebraska, for an 13-week travel assignment. This role involves managing patients requiring intermediate care, including post-surgical CVICU patients, thoracic cases, electrophysiology, cath lab procedures, and vascular diagnoses. You will be responsible for titrating medications such as amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, and cardizem, as well as interpreting telemetry strips from advanced monitoring systems. Expect to work 12-hour day shifts or night shifts, supporting a patient load of 1:4 or 1:3 for post-surgical cases, with a nurse assistant ratio of 1:18. This assignment offers an opportunity to work alongside hospitalists and intensivists in a unit that heavily supports cardiac and vascular procedures, providing a dynamic environment for experienced nurses seeking to expand their expertise in cardiac critical care.
