Job Description:

This oncology nursing assignment places you on the 7th floor of a busy hospital, focusing solely on inpatient and outpatient oncology care. You will work 12-hour night shifts, providing essential support for patients battling various hematology and oncology conditions, including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, and end-of-life care. The role involves coordinating with charge nurses, managing a small team of nurse aides, and utilizing Meditech EMR to document patient progress. While float opportunities are rare, you'll receive a comprehensive three-day floor-specific orientation to ensure you're well-prepared. Expect a patient ratio of approximately 1:5 or 1:6, with a manageable caseload that emphasizes patient comfort and safety.
