Job Description:

This travel RN position in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) offers a hands-on experience in a fast-paced trauma setting, where you will manage complex post-surgical patients, including those with open abdomens, multisystem trauma, and endovascular injuries. The role involves titrating drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin, and interpreting telemetry strips with the support of monitor techs. Shifts are 12 hours overnight, with a typical weekly commitment of 36 hours over 13 weeks. Expect to collaborate closely with ICU staff, including Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Respiratory Therapists, while providing high-level critical care for up to 3 patients on step-down and 5-6 in general medical floors. This assignment is uniquely supported by in-house intensivists and remote telemedicine coverage, and incorporates comprehensive orientation, including Epic system training and shadowing. Candidates should have ICU and Level I trauma experience, current BLS and ACLS certifications, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
