Job Description:

Join a reputable Level I trauma center as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in Urology and Nephrology. This 13-week travel contract offers a schedule of 12-hour night shifts (6:45 pm – 7:15 am) on a 3x12 rotation, where you'll play a key role in managing a 25-bed unit with an average daily census of 23 patients. Your responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, managing pre/post-hemodialysis care, administering medications such as Heparin, and utilizing skills in IV therapy, blood draws, and respiratory management. This assignment is unique in its focus on renal care, with opportunities to float within the scope of medical-surgical units, providing a dynamic experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. You will be expected to have at least two years of relevant RN experience, hold an active Illinois license, and maintain certifications like BLS. The facility values flexibility, so occasional block scheduling and float opportunities are available, with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of patient safety and care. The setting promises exposure to advanced technology such as Cerner charting and remote telemetry monitoring.
