Job Description:

Join a busy Cardio Thoracic unit in Peoria, Illinois, for a 13-week travel RN assignment working 12-hour night shifts. You will be responsible for managing patients with complex cardiovascular issues such as MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, and various lung surgeries, including chest tubes and esophagectomies. This role involves interpreting EKGs, titrating medications like Cardizem and heparin, and troubleshooting advanced respiratory equipment including CPAP, Bipap, and high-flow systems. You’ll work alongside experienced charge nurses, house supervisors, and skilled PCTs, with responsibilities that may include reading EKG strips and managing titratable drips. Expect to float to other general medical units as needed. The schedule is every other weekend and holiday rotations are required. This assignment offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your cardiovascular nursing expertise in a fast-paced environment, with the added benefit of a local rate option for clinicians residing within 50 miles of Peoria.
