Job Description:

Join the specialized team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a prominent Illinois hospital for a 13-week travel nursing assignment. This role requires experienced ICU RNs comfortable with Level I trauma cases, operating advanced equipment such as vents, Bipap, and CPAP, and managing titratable drips including pressors, sedation, and paralytics. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, providing vital care for post-surgical patients, those with open abdomens, and individuals with multisystem trauma. The unit usually maintains a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, but this can vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity. Designed for nurses who thrive in high-pressure environments, this assignment offers a chance to sharpen ICU skills, interpret telemetry strips, and collaborate with an in-house intensivist team.
