Job Description:

Join Aspirus Medford Hospital in Wisconsin as a MedSurg RN for a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts. In this role, you will care for a 20-bed unit that shares responsibilities between MedSurg and ICU, typically managing 8-10 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:4 to 1:7. Your day-to-day activities will include completing vital checks, assisting with patient assessments, and floating occasionally to other departments or Aspirus locations to support staffing needs—no patient load responsibilities during floats. You'll work guaranteed 36 hours weekly, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday. Additional on-call opportunities exist during low census periods, providing extra pay. This assignment offers a professional yet engaging chance to utilize your critical care experience in a critical access hospital setting, with a focus on teamwork and flexible coverage. Proper certifications such as WI or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required, and prior ICU or ED experience is helpful. All work is performed in scrubs that are clean and appropriate.
