Job Description:

Join our team for a rewarding 13-week contract in Aberdeen, SD, working in the bustling peri-operative department as a Surgical Technologist. This role involves circulating surgery cases across a variety of specialties, including general, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, and more. You'll be setting up operating rooms, preparing surgical instruments, and managing equipment such as arthroscopic pumps, cautery machines, and laser devices. The position offers a mix of scheduled shifts, providing variety and flexibility, and allows you to immerse yourself in a fast-paced surgical environment that keeps you both engaged and on your toes. Experience working with electronic charting systems like Epic and medication systems such as Pyxis is essential, along with at least two years of OR experience. This assignment involves floating within the peri-operative department, including pre-op, post-op, outpatient services, and PACU. The unit features four OR suites, one procedure room, eight PACU bays, and 18 patient rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 2:1 depending on patient needs. An initial orientation will familiarize you with equipment, workflows, and hospital navigation to help you settle in quickly. This contract is suited for experienced surgical technologists with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
