Job Description:

This travel assignment is for an experienced neonatal nurse supporting critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU. You will care for premature infants from 22 weeks’ gestation through term, including neonates with respiratory distress, persistent pulmonary hypertension, surgical needs, and conditions requiring therapeutic hypothermia. The role includes ventilator and respiratory support, central and arterial line management, neonatal medication administration, feeding support, phototherapy, developmental care, and family education. The unit features private rooms, 24-hour neonatologist coverage, overnight neonatal nurse practitioner support, and pediatric surgery resources. Night shifts are scheduled as three 12-hour shifts, with every-other-weekend coverage and an opportunity to experience a coastal North Carolina assignment.

Job Specifics:

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM; three shifts per week

Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week
