Job Description:

Join our team as an ICU Registered Nurse on a 13-week night shift contract in Rapid City, South Dakota. In this role, you'll work in a mixed ICU with beds dedicated to MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods, providing care to complex patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. This assignment offers a chance to manage high-acuity patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-surgical, and heavy trauma cases. The unit emphasizes teamwork and critical thinking, with RN-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity. Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamics, IV medications, proning, and critical care equipment like Impella, IABP, or CRRT is highly preferred. You'll be supported by a dedicated team including nurse aides, resource nurses, RTs, physicians, and support staff, all working in Epic electronic charting system. This role requires prior ICU experience, current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC, and familiarity with Epic. Ability to work a demanding 48-hour week, comfort with float responsibilities, and a proactive approach to patient care are essential. During your tenure, you'll participate in hospital orientation and a unit-specific training to ensure smooth integration into the team.
