Job Description:

Join this specialized 4th-floor Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) in Asheville for a contract that offers a hands-on experience in trauma and critical surgical care. You'll be working alongside a team of dedicated nurses and certified nurse assistants (CNCs) in a 20-bed unit equipped with advanced equipment like Camino ICP, CRRT, and arterial/CVC lines. Your role involves performing procedures such as central line, chest tube, arterial line insertions, and percutaneous tracheostomies, ensuring each patient receives meticulous attention. Expectations include managing patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 amidst staffing challenges. The shift is 12 hours during the day, providing ample time to explore the vibrant city or plan day trips during your days off. This assignment is perfect for team-oriented professionals experienced in trauma surgical ICU settings, holding BLS and ACLS certifications, with TNCC and ATCN preferred. Experience with Cerner EMR is highly valued.
