Job Description:

Join a busy ICU in Rapid City, South Dakota, where you'll be stepping into a fast-paced, high-acuity environment caring for complex surgical, cardiac, trauma, and medical patients. As an experienced ICU nurse, you'll manage ventilators, hemodynamic lines, and medications like vasopressors and sedatives, providing critical support in a mixed unit divided into specialized pods—but without the need to float into less familiar areas unless you have specific experience. This 13-week assignment requires 48 hours per week, mostly during 12-hour night shifts, perfect for those who thrive in a night owl routine. You'll be supporting a collaborative team of physicians, nurse aides, and resource staff, with patient ratios typically between 1:1 and 1:3 based on acuity. Prior ICU travel experience and certifications such as TNCC, ACLS, and NIHSS are a must, along with Epic charting proficiency. Expect to precept students and support complex patient cases involving trauma, post-surgical recovery, or cardiac events. With opportunities to work with advanced equipment like Impella and CRRT, this role offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for seasoned ICU travelers ready to make a difference.
