Job Description:

Join our team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse in Springfield, Illinois, for a 13-week contract working five 8-hour day shifts from 06:45 to 15:15. In this role, you'll be instrumental in supporting a busy Level I trauma center, handling a wide variety of general and trauma surgical cases. With at least three years of OR experience, you'll navigate laparoscopic, open, and microsurgical procedures across multiple service lines, excluding cardiovascular surgeries. The role involves working with all service lines except CV, and familiarity with Cerner charting and Level I trauma protocols is preferred. Expect to work with all surgical specialties listed, from bariatric to neurology and urology, with a focus on assisting in complex procedures and maintaining safety standards. On-call duties once per week are required, though they are becoming less frequent. Your expertise in trauma, general surgery, and equipment such as electrosurgical units and Hana tables will ensure smooth operations throughout your shift. This position offers a professional challenge with a touch of the exciting—helping to keep this hospital running seamlessly in critical moments.
